Such a beautiful walk with views all around. A good walk to see different types of birds too. Dogs are allowed too.
A breath taking mirror lake with a well maintained flat track around it for a nice stroll. Dog and pram friendly as well. Not that much parking, but it’s usually not that busy. Come in any season and be amazed by this beautiful wee natural attraction (:
Beautiful lake with a nice walking/cycling track around it offering views of the surrounding mountains and the changing colours of the autumn leaves. Lots of water birds to be seen including geese, ducks and crested grebes.
The walk around the lake only takes two hours at a fast pace and there are locations to have a picnic

Stayed in Arrow Town and came across Lake Hayes on our way to Queenstown early 2020, very picturesque Lake.
We are staying in Lake Hayes for 7 nights- visiting different places daily - Wanaka- Roy's Peak Track, Arrowtown (bike hire), Cromwell heritage area by lake & Queenstown
Pretty spot. Safe swimming at the Reserve, with plenty of room for all.
Beautiful mirror lake. Walk around takes about 3 hours if done leisurely. Good for walking the dog!
